Notes1

In an ordinary normal design practice, what we care about is the outcome, the way our design looks, the usability of the end product. However, the process of our design has always been underestimated, how do we show the process of our thinking, how do we show the process of our design in the outcome? In the end of my last term in MDP, Art center, one of the graduates created something that caught my eye, Jyeong Song created a kind of 3D typography that could magically transform words from holes by using the sun light, the outcome was pretty, but what is more stunning is the process of the morphing, this is a great example in foregrounding the process of design as the outcome. people are fascinated just to see the words transforming from one to another, the process of design, becoming the design itself.
